Quick Sketch – Robot Race

Ok a short concept- war is over and old robots had no more use.. they were labelled as useless metal. Humans didn't want to recycle all of them straight... they thought it'll be fun to hold a race everytime.. and only the winner of the race is able to avoid the cruel fade. Thats why every race was very intense. As time passes by.. all the robots were recycled.. and thus robot race is ended as just a memory.

I’ve been learning my driving the theory tests and before my Advanced theory test I have to watch Initial D: Fourth Stage Anime to get myself more interested and study.. lol.. I’m just not the type of guy that’s really into cars. If I wanna drive I wanna drive a robot! I seldom draw or paint robots, gonna draw more of these in future.

Technical information:

Done in Adobe Photoshop CS 3, wacom tablet, 2104 X 2944 resolution. Few robot figuring used as reference. Comments, critques and any suggestions to help this artwork would be much appreciated.

Quick Sketch - Witch in the rain

Quick Sketch - Witch in the rain at Gfx

Quick Sketch - Witch in the rain at Cgtalk

The witch flies happily though the night, but came a heavy downpour; luckily the composed girl casted a light spell over her head to avoid being drenched.

This is another quick sketch that i did. It comes right after i watch finish Hayao Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli anime film - Kiki's Delivery Service. It was very entertaining and heart-warming to watch. i can't believe its so nice even though its made in 1989. Hayao Miyazaki is really amazing..

Anyways, this piece was done in nearly 6 hours even though i meant it to be quick.. well i tried my best... and the chinese characters was inspired by some of friend's art but my caligraphy is not outstanding.

Technical information:

Done in Adobe Photoshop CS 3, a little strokes in Corel Painter Essentials 4, wacom tablet, 2104 X 3064 resolution. Reference used for the cat :) comments, critques and any suggestions to help this artwork would be much appreciated.

Quick Sketch - Warrior

Lately I have decided to train another aspect of my drawing/painting skills by going back to drawing using my mechanical pencil, and also painting quick sketches, (also called speed painting i think).

Reason being very simple.. my roots are still not firm enough and i really need to build up some decent skills in conceptual sketches which i'm really lacking now.

So lately i've been looking at Feng Zhu and Jason Chan's dvd tutorials. After looking at how Jason Chan finished his quick sketch under 3 hours, I decided to try myself too. I had so much fun now i think I'll keep on doing these for quite a while. I set my time limit to 3 hours.. but i have a rough start so i only finished at 4 hours

Technical information:
Done in Adobe Photoshop CS 3, wacom tablet, 2104 X 3165 resolution. No reference.
